Super Bowl Chili

My younger daughter is a huge sports fan and with the Super Bowl literally just around the corner, tomorrow to be exact, she decided to make a chili.

This is her recipe (based on my recipe).  So delicious.

1.5 lbs lean ground beef
3 large cloves of garlic, finely chopped
1/2 large sweet onion, diced
1 green pepper, diced
1 can mushrooms
1-796 ml can diced tomatoes, drained
1-156 ml can tomato paste
2-540 ml can 6 bean mix
4 tbsp taco seasoning (recipe follows the picture)

In a large stock pot brown beef on medium heat.  Once browned, drain off any fat and return to pot.  Add onion, garlic, peppers, mushrooms and seasoning.  Cook until onions are translucent then add tomatoes and tomato paste.  Stir.  Let this cook on low slow heat for about 20 minutes then stir in both cans of beans and continue to cook on low slow heat. After 20 minutes remove from heat and serve.  You may garnish with sour cream, green onion, cheese, olives, etc and serve with Tostitos scoops.

Enjoy!

Taco seasoning:

6 tbsp chili powder
1 tbsp curry
1tsp salt
1/2 tsp ground black pepper
2 tsp garlic powder
2 tsp onion powder
2 tsp paprika
1/2 tsp smoked paprika
1 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes
1/2 tsp ground thyme
